Chicago Teachers Union Boss Makes Over $200K, Owns Three Homes

Chicago Teachers Union boss Karen Lewis is contemplating a run for Chicago mayor against Rahm Emanuel, the man who is a frequent target of her criticism. She frequently rails against wealth and refers to the multi-millionaire Emanuel as "Mayor 1%." It turns out that Lewis earns more than $200,000 a year and owns three homes, including a condominium in Hawaii, according to watchdog reporters for the Chicago Sun-Times. Lewis and her husband own a $405,000 condominium in the upscale Kenwood neighborhood where Barack and Michelle Obama purchased their south side mansion with the help of political fixer Tony Rezko. Lewis and her husband, a retired physical education teacher, also own a condominium on the Big Island of Hawaii worth at least $240,000. Lewis also owns a third vacation home with her sister in Union Pier, Michigan, worth $305,000 not far from where Emanuel owns a second home he bought several years ago for $675,000. Is it fair to say the empress has no clothes?
